You could enrich your CRM data directly through the integration. We recommend enriching data at least every couple of months, so that you won't miss a new potential deal, or vice versa that your champions have left the customer's company and the renewal deal is now at risk.

Launching enrichment from CRM is easy, let's do it!

Initiating Contact Enrichment from CRM

  1. Before launching the enrichment of your CRM data, you need first integrate your CRM and set up a CRM mapping, so we are sure that all the the data will be synced back properly.

  2. On the CRM side, you need to create reports. Reports are used to grab and enrich not all the data but the specific chunk of it.

  3. If CRM is already connected, then the next step is easy: Navigate to the "Enrich" tab in the main menu and click on the "Enrich Contacts" button on the opened page.

Launch an enrichement

The regular enrichment from CRM consists of three steps:

  • Select CRM Report

  • Setup CRM Mapping (required not for all CRMs)

  • Enrichment Settings

Step 1: Select CRM report

  1. In the opened Enrichment wizard, ensure that the Data Type is Contacts and the selected Contact Source is From CRM

  2. Select the CRM report to start the enrichment process. The report in CRM should contain records

  3. Continue with the mapping if it is required (e.g., for Salesforce integration)

Step 2: Map CRM fields

Click on the "Setup CRM Mapping" button and map your CRM columns to DealSignal fields on the next Mapping page.

Ensure that mandatory fields like First Name, Last Name, Company Name, and Email are correctly mapped. This step is crucial for accurate data processing. Mapping is required to find your contacts in our and our partners' databases.

The minimum required for mapping contact is to provide:

  • First Name + Last Name + Company Name (all columns added together)

  • AND/OR Email

  • AND/OR LinkedIn URL

As more data you provide, as more accurately we will match contacts and enrich them.

Step 3: Enrichment settings

Once mapping is done, click the "Save Mapping" button to proceed with enrichment settings.

In the Enrichment settings tab, you will find a bunch of settings on the right and a preview of all Verification settings on the left.

Let's go through several steps to set up your Enrichment.

Review criteria

In the Criteria section, double-check that you have uploaded the correct file and it is mapped properly.

Contact enrichment settings

In this mandatory settings group, you need to define which contact data you want to receive after verification.

By default, you will always get the refreshed contact profile: contacts company, position, education, and so on. Additionally, you could setup these important details:

  • Work Email: Discover and verify the work email address

  • Corporate Phone: contacts corporate phone

  • Direct & Mobile Phone: direct corporate phone or mobile phone

  • Personal Email: personal, not related to company email. In some cases, people directly share personal emails in the public data like on LinkedIn so we have a few of these. However, DealSignal is not directly collecting personal emails and we do not recommend using personal emails for any email marketing or sales campaigns.

Discover and collection of work emails or phones will cost you additional credits per every contact for which we will do the verification.

In the additional options for the verification, you could also select the "must have" options:

  • Must have verified work email — if enabled contacts for which we were not able to find and verify work emails will be excluded from the final results. Even, if their profiles were enriched and verified or had other contact data: phones, etc.

  • Must have direct or mobile phone — if enabled contacts for which we were not able to find and verify direct or mobile phones will be excluded from the final results. Even, if their profiles were enriched and verified or had other contact data: corporate phones, work emails etc.

  • Must have personal email — if enabled contacts for which we were not able to find personal emails will be excluded from the final results. Even, if their profiles were enriched and verified or had other contact data: corporate phones, work emails, etc.

Company enrichment settings

In this mandatory settings group, you need to define which company data you want to receive after verification. These will be those companies that are associated with contacts that we verified for you.

By default, you will always get the refreshed company profile: company name, LinkedIn URL, size, industry, and so on. Additionally, you could set up getting financial, fundraising, intent, technologies, or job postings data.

Enrich with Intent

Using this options block you could define Intent topics that you are interested in. If contact is working in a company that has such an Intent, then this contact and the relevant company will be enriched with Intent data related to these topics

To set Intent enrichment the user needs to:

  1. Select specific Intent topics

  2. Define Intent Score which illustrates the general strength of Intent in the company. 0-60 is low Intent, 60-90 is normal Intent, and 90+ is high intent.

Enrich with ICP and Persona score

If you have already created an ICP or added a Persona in DealSignal, then with the "Enrich with ICP and Persona score" options group you could select one and compare contacts to them.

This means, that when the enrichment is completed there will be an additional column with a score against the relevancy of contacts or company to the selected ICP or Persona.

Track contact changes

During the enrichment, the contacts profile will be refreshed. This means by default, DealSignal could track if there were important changes happened with contacts from your list:

  • Flag if a contact changes the Company — contact joined a new company

  • Flag if a contact changes the Job Title — job position is changed (could be also a promotion within the same company)

  • Flag if a contact changes the Location — the person has relocated somewhere

Sync to CRM

Set up this section if you want data to sync back to your CRM after the enrichment process is complete.

To do that:

  1. Select CRM where you will return data

  2. Define the mapping scheme and match by field. The match by field will be used to identify to which record to return the data. For example, we could do a match by email, and update those contacts that have the same email as was found by the DealSignal

  3. Select action on the record sync:

    1. Update existing or create new contacts — in this case, after enrichment, we will update all matching records, and in the rare when after the enrichment contact is considered as new, the will be also added to the database.

    2. Update existing contacts — we will update all matching records that we have enriched

    3. Add new contacts only (not recommended) — we will add only new records to the CRM. For enrichment this is a very rare case and could happen after the enrichment a contact is considered as new, so then only such contacts will be added to the database.

Suppression, duplicate handling, and other settings

As an option, you could manage additional settings:

  • Company Suppression: Exclude or add companies to suppression lists after the verification process execution

  • Contact Suppression: Exclude or add contacts to suppression lists after the verification process execution

  • Notifications: Enable email notifications upon completion (currently always on).

  • Flag Duplicates: If duplicates are getting into the result, e.g. same person is in the list twice, it will be marked with a flag.

Launch enrichment

Before launching the enrichment, on the right, you could preview how many companies and contacts will be verified or how many verification credits and/or intent credits will be consumed with the current enrichment settings.

If everything is right, just click the Launch List Verification button, and the enrichment process will start immediately.

Depending on the number of contacts to enrich, the process could take up to 24 hours. You will receive notification emails on the process start and process completion.
